05 Sep What You Do Is Not Who You Are
Here is a brief post Labor Day thought for the day:
What you do for a living is not who you are as a person.
Wow, this is a tough one, particularly in the city where I live.
More often than not, we describe ourselves by the place where we work, who we work for, our job title. In some professions there is a complete blurring of the personal and professional life; one melds into the other.
Have you ever noticed how long after meeting someone new you ask him or her what he does or where she works?
How do you define you in a way that has nothing to do with what you do?
